Guatemala - Asociación Integral De La Juventud Q'anil

Mothers of the Q'anil scholarship students meet to give their input and support for their children's education.

Q'anil is a Maya educational institution working in a remote rural area of El Quiché, Guatemala. EPIC's contribution of $1015 in 2004 enabled 63 children from rural villages to attend a new Maya middle school in Nebaj, El Quiché. Even though the scholarship students are only in middle school, they make a commitment to return to their home villages on weekends to teach in tutoring centers for children who are still attending primary school.
